The need for an outstanding medical College has long been felt in the province. Rehman Medical College (RMC) was mandated to be developed as part of the objectives of Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) charter and hence was designed right at the outset of the RMI project. RMI hospital was commissioned in 2002. Through its dedicated professional services it now symbolizes excellence in patient care. Over the years RMI has earned the trust of people for quality medical care within the country and abroad. RMC buildings were planned soon after commissioning the hospital. Its development has involved notable engineering and architectural firms to construct state of the art buildings in order to house well-furnished and well-equipped academic departments.
RMC comprises of four major blocks to house facilities for training; a College block for basic sciences, Administration block that includes main library, a Hostel block and RMC Hospital block. RMC hospital is under completion and shall be a 500 bedded hospital with a modern and comprehensive diagnostic center. It will not only meet the teaching requirements but will also provide the requisite free services for specified and deserving clients as part of its obligation towards PM&DC requirement.
Once admitted, the medical students shall become important stake holders that shall strive for achievement of ideal physical and mental health of the population in this country.
The objective of MBBS Course is to produce outstanding physicians who are committed to alleviate human ailments and are likely to become leaders in the medical field. The standards and commitment of RMC students shall be reflected through their utility in improving health care by implementing evidence based practice.
